Research into audiences responses

Image
This film poster is purposely designed to get an active response from the audience which would entice them to go and watch the film. Specific factors such as the age of a person (young) would be different to a response compared to someone at an older age and young people may have a more frightened response. Also, gender will depend on your response as women are known to feel more frightened towards a horror film compared to men, which also depends on if they are a fan of that specific genre of film. In this particular article, different responses are expected for different reasons. This article includes biased information and true facts. The article explains how the NHS is in meltdown which is biased as it is the writers opinion. Also, the article goes on to explain how a young boy died due to the incorrect advise from a nurse and how only one nurse was on duty for over 2 million people. Many people may have a dominant response as they agree with both parts of information giv...

Open and closed Text Adverts

Image
This is an example of an open text advert as it has more than one meaning. The use of anchoring in the bottom right corner of the advertisement has be used to reassure the audience what the advert is about to portray meaning and to convince them to buy the product they are advertising. The caption at the top of the advert, 'Good tools. Good work' makes the audience unsure if the advert is about the car or the vacuum making it ambiguous. This then allows the audience to decide on their preferred meaning whether the advert is about the vacuum or the van. By anchoring, adding the logo in the bottom right of the advert, it becomes obvious to the audience the advert is about the van as 'Opel' is an automobile manufacturer. This is an example of a closed text advertisement which has only one meaning. The caption towards the centre left of the advert, 'Lunarlon mid-sole insert provides lightweight low-profile cushioning' clearly only has one meaning as the capti...

Violence in the Media

"Violence in the media has a negative effect on society" For- There are many tv series and films shown in the media including violence which could be seen as influencing society to commit horrific acts compared to what they see in the media. For example, the James Bulger case where two children ages 10-11 had taken a 2 year old child (James) from a shopping centre and took him to a train track and beginning to throw rocks and bricks at him whilst he was on the track and went on to kill him. Whilst this case was taken to court, the young children admitted they were influenced to commit these acts due to a video game they had recently played just days before. This convinced many people of the court and society to believe media has a big impact on how people behave. However, I do believe some cases may be influenced by the media but some will have no link to the media at all as everybody is individual. Against- Many people need a reason as to why particular people of socie...

Created print advert

Image
Print Advert This beach background has been chosen specifically for this advert as it is tropical and leaves the audience feeling rather refreshed. Also, beaches are seen as a place to visit on holiday which could leave the audience feeling rather happy. The brand name 'CapellĂ' has been used for the name of the shampoo as it is Italian for 'hair'. This has been done as it gives the name meaning. Plus, the slogan has been placed in the top left corner of the page as people tend to read left to right and it will be the first thing they see. This specific font has been chosen as it is not too formal and seems rather relaxing. It is also very large and bold which is done to catch the audiences eye. This specific text is in the colour white as it stands out on a blue background. The actress Margot Robbie has been used as the face of the advert as she is a very famous, well known actor which may leave many people wanting to use the shampoo because she uses it. She is al...
