Research into audiences responses

This film poster is purposely designed to get an active response from the audience which would entice them to go and watch the film. Specific factors such as the age of a person (young) would be different to a response compared to someone at an older age and young people may have a more frightened response. Also, gender will depend on your response as women are known to feel more frightened towards a horror film compared to men, which also depends on if they are a fan of that specific genre of film.





In this particular article, different responses are expected for different reasons. This article includes biased information and true facts. The article explains how the NHS is in meltdown which is biased as it is the writers opinion. Also, the article goes on to explain how a young boy died due to the incorrect advise from a nurse and how only one nurse was on duty for over 2 million people. Many people may have a dominant response as they agree with both parts of information given. People may response negatively to this information, for example if you have an ill relative, this may cause concern as this would result in family members with ill relatives worried to take their ill relative to the hospital in case it results in the same consequences as what happened to the little boy in this article.

Representations of characters challenging/ reinforcing stereotypes Lauren: In this particular scene in Eastenders, the character of Lauren challenges and reinforces stereotypes. For example, she challenges the stereotype of typical women (formal and gentle) as by the end of the clip she assaults the character of Lucy by punching her. This may surprise some viewers as it does not fit the usual stereotype of women as they would usually expect her to be prim and proper. In the media teenagers are known to be trouble causers and normally liable to drinking a large amount of alcohol, therefore Lauren reinforces the stereotype of young people drinking and being aggressive. For example, they have referred to the victims as "trapped in their dormitory" to present the story more dramatically. The use of this language leads the audience to believe the students struggled to escape as they were trapped whilst knowing they were going to die.
