Created print advert

Image
Print Advert This beach background has been chosen specifically for this advert as it is tropical and leaves the audience feeling rather refreshed. Also, beaches are seen as a place to visit on holiday which could leave the audience feeling rather happy. The brand name 'CapellĂ' has been used for the name of the shampoo as it is Italian for 'hair'. This has been done as it gives the name meaning. Plus, the slogan has been placed in the top left corner of the page as people tend to read left to right and it will be the first thing they see. This specific font has been chosen as it is not too formal and seems rather relaxing. It is also very large and bold which is done to catch the audiences eye. This specific text is in the colour white as it stands out on a blue background. The actress Margot Robbie has been used as the face of the advert as she is a very famous, well known actor which may leave many people wanting to use the shampoo because she uses it. She is al...

On this magazine cover, men (David Beckham) are represented positively as dressed smartly and looking very professional. This is a positive representation although not all men wear suits and look smart all the time which this magazine cover is trying to show. This shows how magazines don't show that side of people. This magazine cover is representing women in a very positive way, however, many women will disagree with this as they will feel they need to go on the 'crazy LA diet' to look appealing to men and be accepted in society as 'fit and healthy'.

Construction of news

Construction of representations in news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-41263147 Use of language The article is "constructed" through the use of language. For example, they have referred to the victims as "trapped in their dormitory" to present the story more dramatically. The use of this language leads the audience to believe the students struggled to escape as they were trapped whilst knowing they were going to die. This has been done to create an image in the audiences head. Also, the article has continued to add more detail to the event as they have dded the ages of the people who had died. They have been described as "all boys between the age of 13-17" which has been done to make the audience feel for the people who had died as they were just children and still young. By doing this, it creates a graphic image in your head as they had nobody to help them at the time. Plus, the article goes on to explain "at least 23 students and ...

Music video representations

Image
Beyonce - Single Ladies In this music video, Beyonce reinforces a stereotypical woman (thin figure, young pretty face). Women are positively exaggerated throughout this video as they are presented as 'sexy'. However, this may make other women feel insecure and therefore dislike this music video as it may make them feel elf conscious about themselves as they may see themselves as overweight compared to the women in this video. In result of this, many people will be led to believe this video is specifically for male gaze. Sean Kingston - Party All night  This specific music video reinforces the typical stereotype of teenagers known as party animals and constant drinkers. To the audience this could been seen as a positive and negative exaggeration of teenagers as teenagers are seen as having a good time in the video, however, people may contribute to the thought of this stereotype as they may be led to believe teenagers do 'sleep all day and party all night' alth...

Characters challenging/ reinforcing stereotypes

Image
Representations of characters challenging/ reinforcing stereotypes Lauren: In this particular scene in Eastenders, the character of Lauren challenges and reinforces stereotypes. For example, she challenges the stereotype of typical women (formal and gentle) as by the end of the clip she assaults the character of Lucy by punching her. This may surprise some viewers as it does not fit the usual stereotype of women as they would usually expect her to be prim and proper. In the media teenagers are known to be trouble causers and normally liable to drinking a large amount of alcohol, therefore Lauren reinforces the stereotype of young people drinking and being aggressive. Lucy: In this scene, Lucy is presented rather different to Lauren's character as Lucy is presented as a posh young woman due to how she is dressed. However, when she starts speaking she challenges the stereotype of a typical smart well dressed woman as she begins goading Lauren. This will bring shock to the au...
